Aristos Doxiadis is General Partner at Openfund (theopenfund.com), an early-stage VC fund that has invested in digital technology ventures around Greece. He is a pioneer of private equity in Greece, with 20 years of experience in many industries, from banking software to table grapes. He is now preparing a new fund for science-based ventures across many sectors.
Aristos has also been researching and writing on the institutional and cultural determinants of the Greek economy. His book The Invisible Divide: Institutions and Behaviors in the Greek Economy (in Greek; 2013) has been widely read and discussed.
Aristos’ earlier experience includes working on anti-poverty programs for the European Commission, planning industrial policy for the Greek government, and managing consulting and auditing companies. He has a B.A. degree in social studies from Harvard University, and an M.Sc. degree in economics from Birkbeck College at the University of London.
